Dal 2017 la CIA e l’FBI celebrano il cosiddetto Pride Month (il mese dedicato all’orgoglio LGBTQ+ inaugurato da Barack Obama nel 2009) sui loro canali social. Con una semplice ricerca su Twitter, ad esempio, si possono risalire a tutti i post delle due agenzie (qui FBI e qui CIA) dedicati alla “festività”.

Troviamo annunci di “eventi e iniziative” per celebrare i “progressi verso l’uguaglianza” della “comunità Lesbica, Gay, Bisessuale e Transgender”, tra i quali un discorso tenuto all’FBI dal “primo generale lesbica della storia”, Tammy Smith, e l’istituzione da parte della CIA del “gruppo di risorse” ANGLE (Agency Network for Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual & Transgender Officers & Allies) per invogliare “chi si identifica come #LGBTQ” a esplorare le “opportunità di carriera” offerte dalla loro “organizzazione inclusiva”.

“Il Pride Month è un’occasione per noi dell’Agenzia per rendere omaggio alla ricca storia, alla comunità e ai contributi alla missione dei nostri funzionari LGBTQ+”.
