Dopo il polverone della “frode” elettorale, che ha provocato l’assalto al Campidoglio e la battaglia legale di Donald Trump, e dopo il passo indietro di quest’ultimo durante la campagna elettorale (“Ho perso di poco, ma ho perso”), ora il candidato repubblicano a poche ore dall’apertura dei seggi rilancia il mito della “vittoria mutilata” e fa intendere ai suoi elettori che questa volta non accetterà una sconfitta, evocando già nuove possibilità di brogli tramite il voto anticipato e le voting machines.
Si tratta da parte sua della prima ammissione pubblica riguardo a un suo eventuale ruolo -seppur indiretto- nell’improvvisato tentativo di golpe da parte dei sostenitori: considerando che Trump è ancora sotto processo per i fatti del 6 gennaio 2021, è obiettivamente una dichiarazione grave e ai limiti dell’eversione.
D’altro canto, l’ex Presidente ha più volte “messo le mani avanti”, affermando che se i risultati non arriveranno la sera stessa di martedì allora sussisterà il legittimo sospetto di interferenze da parte dei “corrotti” [crooked people].
Nello stesso comizio Trump ha auspicato che qualcuno gli sparasse perché per colpirlo avrebbe dovuto prima ammazzare i giornalisti davanti a lui. Una conclusione di campagna elettorale piuttosto frizzantina…
Per quanto riguarda la questione dei brogli, c’è una buona fetta del Partito Repubblicano che è assolutamente convinta che Biden sia diventato Presidente in maniera fraudolenta: tuttavia in questi anni non è stata assunta alcuna iniziativa concreta per impedire che il “giochetto” venisse replicato. A quanto pare i sostenitori di Trump sono convinti che questa volta il trionfo sarà talmente schiacciante che non ci saranno margini di manovra per i truffatori democratici: non a caso uno degli slogan più incisivi di questa campagna è stato Too Big to Rig, per l’appunto “troppo grande [la vittoria] per essere truccata”.

I’m here, and I’m bigger than ever, better than ever, and more powerful than ever. Sure, they gave me a couple of little criminal convictions—who cares? That’s nothing! Nothing, folks. That’s just part of the show, part of the game. They thought they could stop me, they thought they could hold me down, but you know what? I’m unstoppable! Unbeatable.
These trials? They’re just distractions. They don’t matter. The people of America know what’s really going on. They don’t care about the fake charges. No one cares! We’ve beaten them, I’ve beaten them all—just like I always do. I’m telling you, folks, there is no one who can beat me, not in a courtroom, not in an election, not in anything. Because I’m Donald Trump, and I’m the greatest, and I’m back where I belong, at the top of the world.
